Yoga for Pelvic Health
Tuesdays 5:30-6:45 pm
11-week session (September 11 – November 20, 2018)
at Tone Studio, Owen Sound
Everyone can benefit from improved pelvic health – men and women with all levels of mobility at any age.
We understand that the core is important in terms of posture, mobility and health. In this 11-week session, we talk about what the true core actually consists of (diaphragm, multifidus, transverse abdominus and pelvic floor). We will cover the anatomy of the pelvis and how this can enable us to mindfully move.
In the Yoga for Pelvic Health classes, you will learn movements/yoga poses, breath practices and information to help you to improve and maintain your pelvic floor health.

Core 4 (diaphragm, transverse abdominis, multifidus and the pelvic floor)
Pelvic health is important on so many levels. When pelvic health issues arise we may experience pain in the low back or pelvis, incontinence issues, painful intercourse, sexual dysfunction, separation of the abdominal muscles and pelvic organ prolapse.
If you have any known pelvic health issues — it is highly recommended that you see a pelvic floor physiotherapist and your healthcare provider to first find out if yoga is recommended.

Hi Shannon. Vicki, who is currently in your pelvic health training, gave me your name. I’ve recently been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and clitorodynia/ vulvodynia and am in a lot of pain. I’m seeing a pelvic health physio and she’s recommended yoga/ meditation to ease the symptoms. How do I make arrangements to meet with you? I live in Collingwood so doing a weekly class won’t work.
Thank you for your comment. I have taken off your name and replied via email to protect your confidentiality.
The best way to meet with me for a private yoga class is to contact the office at Proactive Physio Plus in Owen Sound. 519-371-7125.
Hello. I just listened to you on Mado’s Yoga Teacher Resource Podcast. Do you offer a yoga teacher training for the pelvic floor? I attempted to click a link in your website but the page could not be found. Thanks!
I have sent you a personal email with a link to both the training page — https://www.theconnectedyogateacher.com/pelvic-health/
as well as our Pelvic Health Professionals website — https://pelvichealthprofessionals.com/
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks! This article was really awesome, particularly since I was searching for thoughts on this topic last Sunday.
